MAD M - Tradition Bites
MAD M is another German SynthPoP band that tries to
reach the SynthPoP-Audience with 90s SynthPoP
that
got influenced by Depeche Mode. The album starts
with an instrumental track followed by the song
"Try It Again" which I also found on the
Sampler "World Of SynthPoP III". "Try
It Again" does not sound reasoned and the
singing cannot convince. But from track to track the
songs sound more and more improved, also the
singing.
On
the whole the album represents ordinary proper
German SynthPoP .

MONOLITHIC - Power Undiminished
Power Undiminished is Mike Babbitt's 2nd album after he
has released Lifeline together with Adam Sorensen
under the band name "Paradigm" in
1996.The Album starts with the song
"Arms" that you also can find as a remix
version on "Mix Rinse And Spin Volume 2".
The next track and my favorite is "The Sound Of
Tears" which is a romantic song with additional
female singing.
Mike Babbitt sometimes combine calm singing with
fast drum-sets. For my taste this combination does
not work fine as the songs sound fidgety and the
singing is drowned out by the music. On the whole
the album includes 3-4 good songs ("The Sound
Of Tears", "Window Of Faith",
"Unchain", "Redemption"). For
the rest I did not find any use.
